I woke up this morning with this thought in my mind, “Put something nutritious into your body.” With that in mind I thought about my home. I thought about what I had in my home and I had a few different choices. Since I had my choice of healthy things on hand, it was very easy for me to choose. This is key.
If you don’t have healthy choices available you will tend to consume what you have. I know this from experience as do many of you. Over time I built up an arsenal of healthy things to put into my body and I learned where to get them. Some of these things come to me because that is where I am at in life. You will attract to you what you are focused on. Some people may say that it is expensive to live like this but I question that.
Take a look at where your money is going. What are you spending it on? Listen, things may pop up like a friend or friends calling you to hang out. Maybe it might be a movie, lunch, a coffee, whatever it is money is usually involved. It doesn’t have to be and some times money may not be involved but most of the time it is. That money can be a little or a lot. It makes no difference. What you need to know is that you made a choice to spend it.
Let’s look at an example of what I am trying to convey.
It is easy for many of us to spend money at Tim Horton’s without much thought. With that in mind the average medium coffee is about $1.57. This is, for some people, a daily routine. You have probably heard some people say, “I gotta get my morning fix.” When they say this you know that they are referring to coffee. Now I am not going to break down coffee detailing what is in it or the fact that it is on the acid side of the pH scale (about 5.5 pH) but there are a few things to look at. One is the fact that you spent money to get it. The second thing to look at is, “Why did you get it?” You may have a few reasons but because you bought it you are going to put it into your body. You will. That is the reason you bought it. The third thing is to consider is, what are the benefits will you get from the coffee you bought and are there any negative side affects. Now, I know that many things on earth are not entirely perfect but the healthy should outweigh or cancel out the unhealthy.
Having said all that, that best thing for one who has become health conscious is to seek out healthy alternatives without compromising flavor. Sometimes those healthy choices may not taste the same as unhealthy things and that is a given. They are in two different categories; however, healthy can taste good and we need to understand that we need to retrain ourselves on what to eat and drink so that we will yield the most favorable results. Those results are in the category of being healthy.
Okay, so now what? All we need to do is simply redirect our money into those things that will yield the most favorable results. That’s it. We may think it is expensive but really, is it? Are you not worth it? Of course you are and thus the fight will begin. You may have to conquer a little at a time and that is great. You have begun the battle and with focus, tenacity and diligence you will overcome and take back territory.
I am reminded of what God said to the Israelites in the Old Testament. He told them to take a certain piece of land and that they will little by little drive out the unfavorable until they posses it all. This is the mindset we need to have. We have started and we must hold onto what we have accomplished and move onwards to conquer more. We want the entire land. The land that I speak of is “the land of being healthy.” Perhaps trying to conquer everything at once may cause failure, so start small and stick with it. Begin to built up your arsenal of healthy consumption today. You can do it. It starts with one. Begin with one small
thing. If you need help on where to begin or how to begin please feel free to contact me. I am here to help you enhance the quality of your life. God bless you and let’s begin our day by putting something healthy into our bodies.
